Week End, New Year

Heres some pencils I'm cleaning up on a page of new Ungrounded storyness. Some werewolf vampire military action. Pencils in progress on the ol' Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with new Wacom Bamboo Smart I got for christmas. Got the settings in a very nice place between setting up the pixels in sketchbook and the tool settings so they are responding nicely with the wacom stylus. Very cool. Going to keep tooling on this and some other things over the weekend on the tablet. Also tomorrow going to knock out those UTMNT sketches for indie gogo supporters. Getting seasonal out there finaly, you all have a great weekend and stay warm. Heres to a great start to the new year, lets keep it up!

First warmup sketch of 2016! Like, literaly had to make a new 2016 directory and then a new personal work directory in it to save this in. Thought I'd do a fun redesign of spidey. I always like the idea of portraying him with long spidery limbs and torso. Like the mutation made his arms/ legs unnaturaly long next to his torso. So when hes in certain dynamic poses he really looks spidery. Also, have more understated gloves/ shoes with the web pattern, and a belt thats unattached that actualy has some pockets for more practicality. A bigger more abstract spider rather than a realistic one. Anywho. Fun little 5 minute sketch on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 in Autodesk Sketchbook with my new Bamboo Smart stylus. Gotta get used to it. Its really nice. Only thing is its a bit smooth to hold onto. I think I'll get one of those grip slip on things like for pencils and it'll be perfect. Alright sticking this in the sketchbook section. Finished pencils on a Ungrounded spread this morning on the tablet (like penciling on the tablet and then moving it to computer via drop box) and rewarded myself with this fun free sketch. Onto more page work. Using today to focus on ungrounded. Hit everything else next week. Happy New Year. What are your resolutions? Mine is to feel healthier, be happier, stress less about the future, stew lest about the past. Realize a lot of things we worry about aren't in our hands anyways. And just have a happier year. And work hard to keep this life kristina and i have made together chugging forward smoothly.

Bamboo Smart Super Gremlin Warmup

This is a sketchbook post, and sort of a 'first use' review. Got a Bamboo Smart stylus for christmas to use with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 tablet. Gotta say its a great upgrade. Feels natural in the hand, and is way more responsive than the s pen with pressure and glides on the screen more confidently for smoother lines, less 'slippery wiggle' from the smooth screen. I can't wait to get more practice in with it, and am excited to use it for some serious commission penciling and inking projects soon! I recommend it as an upgrade to the Spen. Only draw back I see at this point is the pen doesn't fit in the spen slot so it always remains seperate. Also, and this is without investigating if theres software on the wacom site or not, but the button on the pen seems to have the potential to be programmed but theres no way obvious to do so. Something to look into later. But heres my first official warm up sketch with it. Look forward to more!

Motorhead, Lemmy - synonymous with no bs, no frills - straight tequila or rum or whiskey with no juice or anything mixed in, straight black coffee no chaser rock and roll. Been listening to 'Deaf Forever' all morning since I woke up and saw 'RIP Lemmy' all over facebook. To me, I feel like he was one of those rock anchors, always back there always doing his thing. And he did, rocked till the day he died. We should all be so lucky :)
