I'm happy to announce, that this morning I finished the last 3 commission orders that were backlogged. So, way past the 4 week turnaround. That means going forward all orders are either on schedule or ahead of schedule. This has been many months to a year of closing in on it and I've finally gotten there. What does this mean for you? Every future commission order turnaround will be more predictable and possibly even ahead of schedule. Thanks for everyone's patience who were in the past due orders, I appreciate you! This was one of my first commissions for Padre's Porch, a World of Warships ( and other games ) streamer on Twitch! The prompt was for the theme 'Porch Pirates' and I ran with that idea in many ways. The pirate ship itself is a big porch with railings, and there's a rocking chair attached to the front of the ship instead of a mermaid or other statue. As a nod to World of Warships, I have torpedos flanking the ship but had fun designing them as shark like characters. This is also the first depiction of these goofy crew members representative of Padre's community. I went straight to finished inks from the approval sketch shown above. Most times I just need to get in some important areas to articulate then can finish the rest as I ink the final line art. Once fully inked and colored it was sent to the client as a 12x16 inch ( standard tshirt graphic area size ) flat art for a poster print, as well as transparent background version for use on tshirts and other merch.
This was one of the first pieces I worked on for Padre but it was by far one of my all time favorites. I also continue to enjoy the creative freedom and fun concepts that Padre gives me to work on to this day. Thanks for supporting the drawz neighbor!

A fun 10-15 minute Drawing Request Show request of community member, MelOnCake, as a more 'normal' style woman ( we usually depict her as a funny little sleepy chibi character ) lacing up for some ballerina action. And of course with Mel's pieces I usualy work in a cake somewhere in the piece. In this case, the fancy hat on her head. I particularly like the way the poste came out, the anatomy, and the rendering of the face on this piece.
