Personalizing my new 2020 sketchbook

My first new sketchbook of 2020, ive drawn it it a few pages already but decorated the cover today and sealing the sharpie art with midge podge. Then I can continue to draw over it or color it with markers or what not without smearing the Sharpe draws... Letting this dry whilst messing with Inkscape 1.0  and straightening up the mill today... Its fun personalizing my sketchbooks!

Later same day, I added more colors with alcohol markers and white paint pen to the previous modge podge coating once it dried clear. then sealed it again with another coat of modge podge. Once this dries and turns clear it will be all done and I will resume my drawing an journaling an full this sketchbook up!



1/14/2020 Update

Here's a look at the finished sketchbook! The modge podge dries to a nice clear protective coating and the colors show through vibrant and rich! Even thought its not the 'outdoor' modge podge, it still protects the cover, the art and repels most substances that might smudge or smear it or mess it up! Thanks for looking!

Space Girl Luna - OWN IT!

Many problems can be debugged via wireless software reprogramming from the lab onboard the station, but Luna always enjoys the opportunity to gear up and go work on the satellite and station hardware first hand. Many models have come and gone but few offer the agility and wireless connectivity of the Hare Gear XI. Just another day on the job for Space Technician Luna! Your interstellar IT guru.

Sat down to just have fun draw whatever I wanted this evening. Been in a bit of a creative funk lately in midst of getting adjusted to the new place and new work environment and trying to find a new work routine. This helped a lot and was a lot of fun. Just sitting down and whether or not it came out very good, just finishing a piece soley for me. Space girl goodness.

Drawn completely in Inkscape, coloring/ effects in photoshop. About 3 hours start to finish. Thanks to the folks who came out saw the work in progress on the stream. I also am fond of the black and whites before I did the colors. Check that out below. The annual plundering of the Thanksgiving Marauding Ninja Turkeys has arrived!

An annual tradition - and a loving homage to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- the Thanksgiving Marauding Ninja Turkeys fight each year to avenge and save the turkeys of the land from the pilgrims from afar. 

Each year reflects my growth in style and skill and technique and though centers around the same idea, often varies in execution and design. This year, the style reflected is my finishing colors and shading over tight pencil drawing that I utilize more and more, and the Turkeys are depicted taking the fight to the Mayflower!

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving this year! And eat lots of turkey, if you can defeat one!
